ICMC Direct Admission to Member and Fellow Courses

The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) is the professional body of practitioners in Nigeria with the mandate to regulate the practice of Mediation, train prospective candidates, and encourage organizations and institutions to adopt Mediation and Conciliation as the primary means for addressing disputes.

The Institute has three (3) cadres of membership: Associate Member, Member and Fellow.

DIRECT ADMISSION TO MEMBER OF THE INSTITUTE

The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators is offering non-members of the Institute the opportunity to undergo a two (2) day Special Membership Accreditation and Certification Course. Successful participants will be inducted into the Institute as Members, qualify to use the designation “MICMC” (Member, Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators), and have their names listed in the ICMC Directory of Members.

The persons qualified to participate in this Special Full Membership Accreditation and Certification Course include the following:

1. Serving and Retired High Court Judges, Khadis and Judges of Customary Courts of Appeal
2. Serving Civil Servants on GL12 (Principal Officer) or above
3. Holders of a Master’s Degree, in any field, obtained not less than 5 years preceding the year of application
4. Holders of a Bachelor’s Degree, in any field, obtained not less than fifteen years preceding the year of application
5. Legal practitioners with a minimum of 10 years post call practice experience

The Direct Admission to Member Course of the Institute is scheduled to hold as follows:

Abuja: September 18-19, 2019 at Hawthorn Suites, Area 11, Garki, Abuja

Lagos: September 9-10, 2019 at Solab Hotels & Suites, Allen, Ikeja, Lagos

Asaba: October 9-10, 2019 at Orchid Hotel, DBS Road, Asaba

Time: 8am – 4pm daily

Course fee: N500,000 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira) only per participant

ICMC Upgrade to Member and Fellow Courses

DIRECT ADMISSION TO FELLOW OF THE INSTITUTE

The Institute desires to admit suitably qualified and distinguished professionals and very senior executives in the public and private sectors to the Fellowshipcadre of the Institute. The Fellowship grade is the Institute’s highest level of professional recognition.

Upon assessment and successful qualification for Fellowship by the screening and selection committee, you will be required to attend and participate in a two (2) day Special Fellowship Accreditation and Certification course.

At the successful completion of the Fellowship Accreditation and Certification course candidates will be Inducted as Fellows of the Institute and subsequently qualify to use the title: “FICMC” (Fellow, Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators) and will have their names listed in the ICMC Directory of Fellows.

The persons qualified to participate in this Special Fellowship Accreditation and Certification Course include the following:

1. Serving and Retired High Court Judges, Khadis and Judges of Customary Courts of Appeal
2. Executive Directors and Heads of Public and Private Establishments/Enterprises
3. Serving Civil Servants on GL15 (Assistant Director) or above
4. Holders of a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), in any field
5. Holders of a Master’s Degree, in any field, obtained at least 5 years preceding the year of application
6. Holders of a Bachelor’s Degree, in any field, obtained at least fifteen years preceding the year of application
7. Legal practitioners with a minimum of 15 years post call practice experience

The Direct Admission to Fellow Course of the Institute is scheduled to hold as follows:

Abuja: October 7-8, 2019 at Bon Hotel Stratton, Asokoro, Abuja

Lagos: October 3-4, 2019 at Radisson Hotel, 42 Isaac John Street, Ikeja, Lagos

Asaba: September 10-11, 2019 at Best Western Plus Elomaz Hotel, Asaba

Time: 8am – 4pm daily

Course fee: N750,000 (Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) only per participant
