Plateau Multi-door Courthouse commends ICMC

During the special Induction ceremony of the Institute which held on Friday, December 6, 2019, in Jos, Plateau State, Mrs. Ladi Azyer Madaki, the Acting Chief Registrar of the High Court, Plateau State and the Acting Director of the Plateau Multi door Court, and the Chair of the Occassion, in her goodwill message commended the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators on her efforts in advocating the use of ADR mechanisms in Nigeria. 


She also commended the German Agency for International Development (GIZ) on their efforts in promoting growth and employment in Nigeria, especially in Plateau State.


She finally thanked the President of ICMC, Chief Emeka J.P. Obegolu, who was represented by the Second Deputy President, Dr. (Amb.) Ken-Ayibaemi Fashola, for the opportunity to have a special Induction Ceremony of ICMC in Jos, Plateau State.


The GIZ Representative, Mr. Akinropo Omoware Esq, in his goodwill message congratulated the Inductees on the successful completion of their training. He admonished them to put into practice all the knowledge they have acquired and reminded them that this Induction Ceremony qualifies them to practice mediation professionally. Mr. Omoware encouraged the inductees to represent the Institute in their conduct and practice of mediation.


The Second Deputy President of ICMC welcomed the Inductees to the Institute while assuring them of the continuing support from the Institute and charged them to be mindful of the code of ethics for mediators and charged them to be good ambassadors of this great Institute.


The Registrar of the Institute, ‘Segun Ogunyannwo, applauded the inductees for equipping themselves with mediation skills which will aid them in assisting disputing parties in an assured, confident and professional manner.  He informed all present that on the 25th day of November, 2019, the Institute inducted over 600 Nigerian Law school students at the Nigerian Law School campus, Abuja. In a similar vein on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 the Institute celebrated her 20th Anniversary while inducting over 1,700 professionals from various fields as Associate Members, Members and Fellows of the Institute.


Finally he welcomed the Inductees to the Institute and Ministry of Reconciliation and looks forward to working with the Inductees in ensuring that ICMC retains it’s enviable standards of excellence and remains the destination choice  for practitioners in Nigeria and beyond.
